hello sir thank u this oppurtunity for us this is sree saravanan from chennai -in- india
im basic asst camera man & this is my first post sir im very interested in cinematography
but i dont have a degree & photography courses. now iam reading [5 cs] & i saw the holly wood camera work master dvd course.and i have a one question sir what is the footcandles tables how to calculate with exposure & give me ur goid advice for how to learn properly the cinematography.

I think it best you check the Wikipedia web site where they give the correct definition of one foot candle. In simple terms, 100FC would allow shooting a full exposure at F2.8 on a 100ASA stock, or 50FC at 2.8 on a 200ASA stock, or 25FC at 2.8 on a 400ASA stock or 12.5FC at 2.0 on a 400ASA stock etc etc. The photometrics of a lamp is often gives as the number of foot candles that lamp will output at a certain distance and within a certain radius and it is then possible to calculate from that number which lamp will give a desired level of exposure.
